Unlike the CC field, the BCC field allows you to specify one or more additional email addresses that will receive a copy of the message to be sent, in a way that is totally invisible to the direct recipient (who cannot know that the BCC addresses have also received it).
So by entering additional email addresses in the BCC field, the persons concerned will receive the content of the message in their mailboxes as if they had been a simple copy (CC) of the message, but with the difference that their email address will not appear anywhere in the message header (only the email addresses of the sender and direct recipient will be visible).

Although less commonly used in practice than the standard copy (CC), the BCC hidden copy offers the advantage of being able to transmit the content of a message invisibly to a third party whom you wish to inform, without the main recipient knowing. Thus, since the person in CCI is anonymous and invisible in the exchange that has been sent, he will not be able to freely participate in the conversation and reply to the email, as is often the case with emails with simple copy (CC).

From a technical point of view, the BCC method consists in not including the BCC person’s email address in the header of the message sent, although during the actual SMTP exchange it will nevertheless be used to ensure that the correct routing is carried out and that the email also arrives in the requested mailbox as a blind copy.

BCC, which stands for “Blind Carbon Copy“, is a computer term used in connection with emailing.
